Once an athlete has been effectively progressed through Coach Norman's Base Movement Training regimen, it is now time to turn up the demands and take your training to a whole new level. Coach Norman demonstrates over 150 demanding, intense exercises for advanced development of athletes. The first series of drills are Force Production drills, also known as "plyometrics," which are continuous and repetitive drills designed to stimulate and train fast twitch muscle fibers. There are 13 plyometric drills in the vertical series, and 23 drills in the second series that address lateral, diagonal, horizontal and upper body plyometric training. Resisted Force Production training is also an intense portion of this second series, and Coach Norman describes three key drills he utilizes to train elite level athletes. Training tools include low and high hurdles, medicine balls, weight belts, and bungee cords. Force production with movement is an advanced 18 drill series that combines sprinting and change of direction with explosive movements. The next segment is dedicated to quick feet and change of direction. In part one, 30 challenging drills are demonstrated and coaching points highlighted. Part two is a 26-drill package that pushes athletes physically and mentally to the limit. Cones are used creatively in 25 different agility drills. A comprehensive set of 11 exercises, the reactive agilities, is applicable to many game-like situations. Norman also shares 21 challenging exercises in the area of resisted/assisted agilities that make up the core of his advanced training program. To conclude the DVD, Coach Norman describes his post workout partner stretching routine for enhanced flexibility and effective recovery.
