Analyse your Player

Some Random Questions you should know about your opponent as a defender....

What foot do they kick off?

What side do they turn most with back to goal?

What side do they like to take you on, when running at you?

When you are marking them - do they....Push off you?make dummy runs? What dummy runs?physically out muscle you? How exactly?Beat you for speed? Beat you for High Fielding? Look for the ball over the top? Try and Out Run you? Drag you away from goal to leave space?

What does this mean for your defending position?

Do you need help in 1v1 situations?

How do they create space for a shot?What evasion skills/dummies do they use?

Do they buy frees, if yes, how?

Will they draw you out to leave space for others?

Where do they like to receive the ball?

Who do they Link up well with in open play, both as receiver and passer? Where does this pass usually come from?

Where are they comfortable scoring from?

What do they do for kick outs?

What do they do for Sideline balls?

What do they do for 45s?

Will they track you if you push forward?

COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS:

If they don't like physical contact -  I will......

If they win the ball on the 21 left hand side, I will....

If they make dummy runs, I will....

If they are running directly at me, I will.....

If x has the ball, he will move to y? ..... I will.....

If they make a late run onto the ball... I will...

They don't like to track back, so I will.....
